Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mistress Mildred Baena Tells All, Should She Have Kept Quiet?

The mistress of Arnold Schwarzenegger has gone to the press to tell her side of her affair with the former California governor. But her sugar-coated account of what went down may backfire on her. Was it wrong for Mildred Baena to kiss and tell before we've heard a peep from Maria?

Baena, who goes by the name Patty, gave Hello Magazine all the sordid details, making Maria Shriver's revelation of her husband's affair sound like it was a therapy session for the one time housekeeper!

The article includes a photo of mom and her 13-year old son, Joseph (and yes, he looks like Arnie!)

But because Baena claims she wasn't paid a dime for the tell-all, one has to wonder why she did it.

According to the article, Maria Shriver's revelation that her husband had a mini-me resulted in her comforting Patty in an impromptu therapy session '" and even asking her to stay on as the family housekeeper.

Baena claims that it was Shriver who put the pieces of the paternity puzzle together, saying that Shriver eventually asked her point blank if her husband was the father of Joseph when it became obvious that the child resembled Schwarzenegger.

"Maria asked me directly if Joseph was Arnold's son, and I just broke down. I dropped to my knees and I was crying, saying that yes he was and I was so sorry. She cried with me and told me to get off my knees." Baena said.

Baena also said that she offered to pack up and leave the family home immediately, but that Shriver asked her to stay until after the holidays.

And in what could be construed as a slap in the face for Shriver, Baena also said, "I told her it wasn't Arnie's fault. It takes two."

Which two was she talking about? Her and Arnie? Or was she justifying Arnie's cheating ways by implying that his wife should share part of the blame?

Although Baena surprisingly claims she never directly told Schwarzenegger that he was the father of her child, when told that the "Terminator" star was his dad, Baena's son ( who is clearly a young man of few words), reportedly said, "Cool."

But perhaps the strangest part of the story is Baena stating how much she loves and respects Shriver and how much Arnold is suffering, saying, "I hope with time they work things out."

Out of respect for Shriver, Baena would have done better if she had kept her story to herself'"and kept mum with the well wishes.

Baena claims she wanted to get her side of the story out there because so many lies have been printed about her. But her account of what went down with Maria sounds a little too kumbaya'"unless Maria is looking for saint canonization someday!

As for Baena's goal in this whole mess-- to tell the truth? Guess better late than never.

Should Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mistress Speaks Out: Does This Accomplish Anything?

Arnold Schwarzenegger's mistress, Mildred Baena, has broken her silence about the events surrounding their affair and the birth of their love child.

In an interview with Hello Magazine, Baena explains the Maria Shriver had figured it out on her own. As Baena's son, Joseph, 13, grew up, he began to resemble his father. This caused Maria to realize the truth. Arnold, who had not been informed about the child's paternity, also began to wonder.

Baena claims that Maria had been strong throughout the proceedings. After Maria learned the truth, Baena explains, "She was so strong. She cried with me and told me to get off my knees. We held each other and I told her it wasn't Arnie's fault, that it takes two."

Should Baena have even gone public with this interview? I'm of two minds on this.

On the one hand, Baena did not get paid for the tell-all interview. This makes me respect her a bit more because it shows that she's not out for a quick buck (though it does not erase what she and Arnold did to Maria).

And the interview seems to portray Maria in a sympathetic and positive light, which she deserves given what she's been through.

On the other hand, why should Arnold's personal transgressions even be subject to public scrutiny in the first place? I'm all for Maria divorcing him and taking him to the cleaners, but do we need Arnold and his mistress giving us these intimate details? Hasn't Maria been humiliated enough?

Sure, society tends to hold politicians publicly accountable for their personal affairs. Yet cases like John Edwards and Mark Sanford were a bit different. Sanford was a sitting governor who had disappeared without properly communicating with his staff. And Edwards was a political hopeful and potential running mate for Barack Obama.

Yet Schwarzenegger is a term-limited governor who is constitutionally ineligible to seek the presidency.

Can any good come from this interview? Baena probably has good intentions by trying to set the record straight, but this interview is not likely to put the scandal to rest. People are going to talk regardless of whether or not Mildred Baena tells her side of the story.
