It is no wonder that Russian girl Kseniya Sobchak is compared with the rich American heiress Paris Hilton, because she has blond curls, wearing expensive clothes and loves fame.
Presenter of the reality show and a member of high society, Sobchak, has shocked the political public and was rapidly transformed into one of the leading critic of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. Like Paris, likes to go out with millionaires, is among the richest celebrities in the country and has even released its own perfume. But unlike Paris, Kseniya works in politics.
She became famous as the presenter of the Russian version of Big Brother, which conservatives called “brothel” and found herself on the cover of Russian Playboy. Kseniya has a degree in international relations and a Masters degree in political science. She is the daughter of the late Anatoly Sobchak, who became the first democratically elected mayor of St. Petersburg, 1991 year, and Putin was his deputy.
In 1997 Sobchak had fled to Paris, on charges of bribery and abuse of position. He returned in 1999 year, when Putin came to the top of the Russian authorities and the charges were dropped, according to the British tabloid The Sun.
Kseniyas mother, Lyudmila Naruse, was a minister in the lower house of Russian parliament and became a senator of the Upper House in 2002nd year. Despite the family ties with Putin, Kseniya has become his opponent during recent political protests in Russia. Opposition activists say that she is very smart and that says everything she thinks, that is without mincing words, no matter the consequences.
